I was a sideline spectator for the majority of my life, convinced I wasn’t made for sports. I was too passive and non athletic. Or so I thought. That all changed in 2010 when my oldest, of four children, decided to run cross-country. I figured it was time to get off the couch and get “fit”. I decided to download a 5k app and sign up for my first race. It was a challenge but I was determined to follow through. All I could think after that was, what now? The more involved I became the more I wanted to push my limits to see what else I was capable of. Since then I have gone on to complete many 5k and 10k’s, 48 half marathons and 3 marathons. In 2014 I added cycling and triathlon to my resume completing the Seattle to Portland 206 mile ride, 4 sprints and in June will finish my 3rd 70.3.

In Dec 2016 I required knee surgery and was assured that I would be running in 6 weeks. It was close to a year later and after countless hours of PT that I was finally able to run again. I was very discouraged to see how much fitness I had lost. A friend had recommended TriDot and I was hoping this would be what I needed to add structure back into my workouts. I was doubtful that I would ever make it back to my previous conditioning but with the help of TriDot I have been able set new PR’s at all distances and remain injury free. I am in awe everyday when I think of what we are all capable of. I am excited to see what the future holds and look forward to encouraging those who are just beginning their journey. My goal is to add the title of Ironman in 2020.

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time- Thomas A. Edison
