Mark Allen is the most successful triathlete of all time having won the IRONMAN World Championships® 6 times, the Nice International Triathlon 10 times, and the first recognized Olympic Distance Triathlon Championship. He went undefeated in 21 races for an astounding two-year winning streak from late 1988 thru 1990. He has been inducted into the Halls of Fame for IRONMAN, USA Triathlon, and the International Triathlon Union. In 2012 Mark was voted “The Greatest Endurance Athlete of All Time” by ESPN.
Post retirement Mark has devoted his career to coaching athletes of all levels and to sharing the lessons he learned about preparation, perseverance, and living up to their full potential.
Mark started coaching in the 90s with simple concepts and tools, leaning on his experience first and then slowly improving his methods and tools. As the world entered the digital age and mountains of new data became available, he began to have difficulty maintaining pace. Mark realized that the biggest limiter for coaches was the human brain’s inability to assimilate that vast amount of data that were now available. The mere fact that this data was available wouldn’t make his athletes better unless he was able to actually use it.
He began searching for a partner that could use data and technology to help take his coaching to the next level and deliver the most value to his athletes.
“As I was educated on what’s going on behind the scenes, it thought this is mind blowing. I mean, this is groundbreaking,” said Allen. “Underneath the hood is the best engine you’ll ever find in coaching. Ever. Anywhere. We are in a new era of triathlon training with TriDot. If you’re not in on it, you’re being left behind.”
